Taylor and Davina Hartsfield are a beautiful family of 4 with an adorable daughter Reagan and newborn son Rocco. Both are amazing parents giving so much to their community. Taylor is a very successful REALTOR and Davina is an Elementary School Teacher.
On Tuesday April 11, 2017 the unexpected nightmare happened when Taylor suffered a Grand Mal Seizure. Taylor has never had a seizure and has always had a very clean bill of health. He was rushed immediately to the hospital at which time a CAT Scan determined that he has a massive tumor on the frontal lobe of his brain. He was then heavily sedated to keep further seizures from happening at which time numerous surgeons came in to evaluate. It was determined that the tumor is most likely an Oligodendroglioma which was removed April 24th. They are waiting on the biopsy results to determine if the tumor was cancerous and what the next steps will be. Taylor’s recovery will be lengthy, and he won’t be able to drive for 6 months to a year.
The bills will be extensive and not covered by insurance. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
UPDATE May 10, 2017
Today the family returned to Miami for Taylor's pathology results.
Taylor has a Grade 2 Astrocytoma Tumor with an IDH mutation. He will have to do 6 weeks of radiation and 6 months of chemo. They will monitor it every 3 months, then every 6 months, then move to yearly MRIs.
They do not call tumors in the brain "cancerous or non cancerous" apparently. Brain tumors are categorized by grades 1,2,3,4. 1 being the most "benign" and 4 being the most aggressive.
Taylor and his family need our help more than ever, the medical bills for treatment will be costly, and Taylor will not be able to work for an extended period of time.
